If you’re waiting for the M4 MacBook Pro, you’re going to have to wait until late 2024, according to one analyst.
M4 MacBook Pro Coming in Late 2024, M4 MacBook Air Set for Release in 2025
Apple debuted the M4 chip with the latest iPad Pro lineup. Naturally, everyone started to wonder when these chips will make it to the Mac lineup. If you’re looking for an answer, analyst Ross Young has weighed in on that matter.
According to the analyst based on what he’s hearing from the supply chain, you can expect the MacBook Pro to get the M4 chip in late 2024. That’s not all, the Mac mini is expected set the get the M4 upgrade in the same time-frame. It’s also being suggested that the iMac, Mac Studio and Mac Pro will receive M4 upgrades in late 2024 or early 2025.
Wondering about the MacBook Air? It will reportedly be updated with M4 some time in mid-2025. If you’re hoping to upgrade your current laptop and want the MacBook Air, you may want to hold on for a while.
Apart from the M4 chip, I don’t expect the MacBook Pro to get massive new features that will make it stand out. However, given how the chip was especially made to drive the tandem OLED display on iPad Pro, there is a slight chance Apple may bring that tech to its notebook lineup, too.
Let’s just see how this one pans out. If an OLED display is coming to the MacBook Pro with M4, it’s going to be a massive treat.
