If you think Apple can’t innovate, you’re wrong. watchOS 11 lets you change the default ringtone on Apple Watch.
Apple Watch Users Will be Able to Change their Default Ringtone to Something Else in watchOS 11
I’m sure most of your use your Apple Watch in the stealthiest way possible. After first setup, you pull up Control Center and set your Apple Watch to silent, the way it should be. But, for those who rely on audible notifications and ringtones already know they can’t change the defaults.
Fast forward to year 2024, Apple Watch will let users change their default ringtone to something else. watchOS 11 is the update you need to do this and it will be available for download later this year.
Apple didn’t just throw in a couple of options and called it a day. There are a total of 8 ringtones you can choose from, including Pebbles, Focus, Jingle, Nighthawk, Transmit, Twirl, Windup and Wonder.
It keeps on getting better. The default notification sound for everything else can be changed too, with options including Resonate, Brilliant, Cheer, Flutter, Globe, Moment, Scoop, Timekeeper and Tinker.
Apple took a while explaining new features in watchOS 11 at WWDC 2024. A single mention of this on stage would’ve gotten more applause than everything else, I guarantee it.
