The AirPods lineup is set to get a whole new host of features which everyone is going to love and they’re available in beta today.
AirPods to Receive Siri Interactions, Voice Isolation and Personalized Spatial Audio Support While Gaming – Coming Later this Fall
Kicking things off is Siri Interactions. This is an extremely clever one because it negates the need to talk to Siri completely if the situation doesn’t allow it. For example, if someone calls you, Siri will ask if you want to accept that call – just nod your head no and Siri will dismiss the call. This is straight up genius and works in a wide variety of places including messages.
Enhanced Voice Isolation is going to be a game-changer if you find yourself in noisy environments. If the other person has a hard time listening to you, your H2 powered AirPods Pro will simply get rid of ambient noise such as harsh wind, putting focus more on your voice. This feature was already available on iPhone, iPad and Mac, but now it’s making its way to AirPods Pro with H2 chip which is the second-generation model.
With the new update, you can use your AirPods 3, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max with Personalized Spatial Audio while gaming. The same experience which was limited to movies, TV shows and music is now where it deserved to be in the first place.
Not all features will be available for every AirPods model. For example, the Voice Isolation feature is limited to just the AirPods Pro with H2 chip. The Siri Interactions is also available on the AirPods Pro with H2, whereas the Personalized Spatial Audio feature is available on all models except the first and second-generation AirPods.
The new firmware update will be available this fall.
