The final release of iOS 18 is still far away and Apple has already started work on iOS 19 (codenamed Luck) along with other updates.

Apple has Started Work on iOS 19 ‘Luck,’ watchOS 12 ‘Nepali,’ macOS 16 ‘Cheer’ and visionOS 3 ‘Discovery’

Bloomberg reports that Apple is actively working on iOS 19, as well as watchOS 12 ‘Nepali,’ macOS 16 ‘Cheer; and visionOS 3 ‘Discovery.’

Obviously, given how early this report has dropped, there is no word on what is going to be new in these updates. But, if we take WWDC 2024 and Apple Intelligence into consideration, it’s safe to assume we will see Apple pushing AI even further.

Right now, the first beta of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 is available for download. In fact, beta 2 of this software was released earlier this week, too along with updates to other platforms.

Do keep one thing in mind, Apple is using names like ‘Luck’ and ‘Discovery’ as placeholders. This is how they describe their project internally. macOS 16 will not be called ‘Cheer,’ obviously.

The report goes on to say that active work on next-generation software this early isn’t strange at all. In fact, it falls in line with Apple’s schedule. If you’re wondering Apple is doing things completely differently, you might want to dial your hopes down.

If there’s more news regarding these updates, I will definitely keep you all posted. In the meantime, feel free to discuss what Apple might be working on for next year.
