The Beats Pill is back and the Bluetooth speaker is better than ever with a ton of new features and a low price of just $149.
Apple is Back with the Beats Pill, Featuring USB-C, 24H of Battery Life, Lossless Playback, Find My Support and More
Want to feel old? The Beats Pill was released back in 2012, was succeeded by the Pill+ and was discontinued in 2022. What an amazing ride, right? But, the story doesn’t end there. Apple has released a new Beats Pill speaker today and it is packed with ecosystem-related features that will make any iPhone, iPad or Mac fan happy.
First of all, you get the AirPods like pairing experience. It wouldn’t be an Apple product if it didn’t have that pop-up pairing experience on iPhone and iPad. The Beats Pill has it. Once paired, the speaker will sync across all your Apple devices. Just play your audio and the speaker will automatically switch devices for you. No need to fiddle with buttons.
Find My support is here, too. This means losing this speaker is not an option. You can find it on a map no matter where it is. The Beats Pill will send its location to you using a nearby Apple device from time to time.
When it comes to sound, Apple says you will experience a lot of bass and a fuller sound compared to before. If you’ve ever used a Pill speaker before, you know they don’t sound great. Thankfully, you can leave all of that in the past as the new one promises big improvements.
Battery life has been pushed to the limit. 24 hours of playtime is here so you can continue listening to whatever you like as long as you like. And, charging is handled via USB-C, and that very same port can be used to hardwire a device for audio with support for lossless playback also included.
Here’s another feature you’ll love – you can use the speaker to charge your iPhone or any other Android device. So, this speaker is also a power bank.
You can even use two Pill speakers together in a feature called Amplify Mode to boost sound. You can take that even further with the Stereo Mode option, allowing you to set one speaker to act as the left one, and the other as right. Apple really did their homework this time, that’s for sure.
Last but not the least, the speaker is IP67 rated, comes in Matte Black, Statement Red and Champagne Gold color options, and costs just $149. Yes, it’s that cheap.
