Latest Version of Final Cut Pro for iPad Arrives with Tons of New Features While Final Cut Camera for iPhone Takes Video Recording to the Next Level

You’ve been waiting for these updates and they’re finally here. I’ll be adding more details in a while, and in the meantime, download the apps from the links below. Final Cut Camera for iPhone is free to download but requires a Final Cut Pro for iPad subscription.

There are a ton of new features here but I’ll touch on the main ones first for Final Cut Pro for iPad 2. First of all, you can use the Final Cut Camera app on iPhone to record up to four angles at once, allowing you to truly narrate the best possible visual story. Then there’s support for creating and editing projects on an external drive, something which users have been asking for a lot – makes sense since some projects can span a couple of terabytes and having an external drive connected surely helps.

If you’re recording video directly from the Final Cut Pro app, you now have shutter speed and ISO controls to dial in the exact setting for your next masterpiece. Focus peaking is also available to nail sharpness every single time whereas 12 new grading presets, 6 dynamic glitch backgrounds, 20 soundtracks, 8 basic text tiles along with other new features are included in this release.

Next up, is the all-new Final Cut Camera app for the iPhone. It’s free, of course, but requires you to have a working Final Cut Pro subscription for iPad, otherwise it’s of no use to you at all.

This app packs a ton of features, including the ability to shoot video in full manual controls. This includes a ton of different resolutions, frame-rates, codes, you name it. Things like shutter speeds, ISO, white balance, pull focus, precise zoom, orientation lock and image stabilization ensures everything comes out the way it should be.

This app syncs up to Final Cut Pro for iPad, allowing you to record and view everything in one single place. Up to 4 iPhones are supported at any given time which means you can take your storytelling to multiple angles.

Remember, these apps work on the latest version of iOS and iPadOS. Some features require the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max and the M4 iPad Pro is recommended if you’re looking to take full advantage of the latest Final Cut for iPad 2 release.
