AnotherApple is finally live and I invite everyone to check it out. But, don’t just scroll, download the iPhone, iPad and 5K Mac wallpapers while you’re here, too.
Let’s Celebrate the Launch of AnotherApple with Exclusive Wallpapers for iPhone, iPad and 5K Mac Absolutely Free
This website is exactly what I wanted to have for a long time – over 14 years, to be exact. It’s a place where I can freely talk about the company whose products I use on a daily basis. Now that all the pieces have fallen into place, with the website now live, I want everyone to celebrate with me a handful of free wallpapers for the iPhone, iPad and Mac. The Mac wallpaper is in 5K resolution, which means it will fill your iMac’s display perfectly from one edge to the other.
But first, let’s talk a little about the website logo.
AnotherApple Logo
At this point, you might have a question or two regarding the logo and what it represents.
The six colors represent the classic six-color version of the Apple logo, whereas the rounded edges represent an app icon. The underscore, on the other hand, represents a text string waiting for your next key stroke.
This is what the logo is. It’s neat, simple and fits right into the modern website design.
Originally, I wanted something with an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch in it. Though I have some drafts of those logos, but they’re awful to look at because I was simply experimenting with what was even possible. Eventually I landed on the logo above.
Over time, I do plan to change the logo a little and modernize it as much as possible. For now, this is going to be the logo of the website and everywhere else, including social media.
The initial wallpaper idea I had in mind was way different compared to what is made available for download today. I wanted some abstract, maybe a little bit of gradient, some sort of pattern in the background, but it didn’t spark too much confidence. It felt a bit overdone.
I simply took the logo, dialed down the saturation from each of the six color sections and tossed it in the background. It’s minimal, fits well on all devices and does not go overboard in any way. A great starting point for things to come, too.
Keep in mind that I am not able to host the full quality wallpapers on the website, yet. If you want to download these wallpapers, you can do it by going here. I know it’s a bit of an inconvenience but the full quality of these wallpapers is absolutely worth it.
In case you’re wondering what app I used to create these wallpapers, it’s Pixelmator Pro. It’s worth every single penny and a great Photoshop alternative.
