Apple Watch users running the watchOS 11 preview can now download beta 2 of the software right now.
Download the Latest watchOS 11 Beta 2 on Apple Watch with Lots of Bug Fixes and Improvements
watchOS 11 beta 2 is an extremely important update and you should download it right away. There are two ways you can do that – either straight from your Apple Watch or the connected iPhone. On your Apple Watch just go to Settings > General > Software Update and then install the available update from there. Or, on your iPhone, go to Watch > General > Software Update.
Whichever path you end up taking, you will be required to put your Apple Watch on its charger throughout. The installation won’t begin until your Apple Watch has more than 50% or more battery life remaining, even if it’s on charge.
watchOS 11 is not a very big update compared to iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, but if you’re someone who cares about physical health a lot, then it will mean a lot to you, thanks to the new Vitals app as well as Training Load. You also get the ability to pause your Activity rings, which is great for rest days so that you do not lose your streak at all.
There are minor updates scattered throughout watchOS 11 that do enhance the overall experience, but let’s face it, how many of you actually spend a lot of time using the Apple Watch and not your iPhone? Thought so. That’s why these changes might not mean that much to a large group of people at all.
If you’re hoping to downgrade watchOS 11 beta instead, you might want to read this up. It’s not great news, but it’s not entirely bad either since the full and final version will be delivered to you eventually then you can disable pre-release software updates completely.
I will only recommend installing the watchOS 11 beta if you truly understand the risks involved. If you’re still up for it, make sure your Apple Watch is compatible with the update and then follow the tutorial posted here.
Again, once you perform the upgrade, there’s no going back to the public release of watchOS 10. This is something everyone should know and can be a huge deal-breaker if the beta breaks functionality in a key area on Apple Watch you thoroughly rely on.
You’ve been warned.
