In a move to diversify its supply chain even further, Apple will be manufacturing the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max in India this year.
Apple Diversifying its Supply Chain Further by Manufacturing ‘Pro’ iPhone Models in India for the First Time
Apple has been manufacturing the iPhone in India for quite some time. But, the manufacturing has been limited to standard iPhone models such as the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15. With iPhone 16, Apple is planning to manufacture the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max in India, according to a report by MoneyControl.
Foxconn is tasked with producing the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max in India and mass production will begin once the devices have officially launched later this year. If past iPhone announcements are anything to go by, we can expect Apple to unveil the new lineup in September of this year. Do keep in mind that the bulk of these iPhones will still be produced in China.
With the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, everyone is expecting a great amount of changes. First and foremost, all devices will be powered by the A18 chip across the board. The standard models will have the A18 chip, while the Pro models will ship with A18 Pro. But that’s not all, all models will feature Apple Intelligence, too.
While details are sparse when it comes to the camera system, reports do suggest the iPhone 16 Pro will feature a 5x telephoto lens like the Pro Max model. If you wanted more zoom on the smaller model, you’re definitely in luck this year.
We also heard a rumor that the iPhone 16 Pro will be available in a brand new ‘Rose’ color option. It is highly likely Apple is going to drop the Blue color in its ‘Pro’ lineup in favor of Rose. We will know for sure once the phones are announced officially.
