tvOS 18 pubic beta 2 for Apple TV is now available for download. Install the update today over the air, here’s how.
Download and Install tvOS 18 Public Beta 2 with Bug Fixes and Enhancements
In all the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 noise we tend to forget about tvOS 18 a little too often. Just a while back, tvOS 18 public beta 2 was released and it is now ready for download and install. You can do install it by going to Settings > System > Software Update on your Apple TV.
Though there isn’t much in this update, but if you’re a TV+ subscriber, you’ll find InSight to be quite an interesting little feature. Other than that, there are HomeKit related improvements under the hood and you can also expect improved performance compared to tvOS 17.
tvOS doesn’t have to be a massive update. The entire experience revolves around third-party apps and they’ve been great so far. It’s a set-top box that is tasked to stream video and it needs to do that perfectly. But, does it? Definitely.
There is a long way to go until the final version of tvOS 18 comes out. However, at the same time, it would be great if Apple couples the final version with brand new hardware as well. It’s hard to suggest what new hardware it should be, but given how cheap the Apple TV is, a new model makes you want to upgrade as quickly as possible.
Before any of that even happens, make sure you download and install that tvOS 18 public beta 2 update.
