Here is everything that is new and has changed in the just-released iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 4 for iPhone and iPad, respectively.
There are a Few Changes in iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 Beta 4 – Apple Intelligence is Still Missing
Just a while ago, iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 4 was released for developers. You can install the update now, if you like, given you have a previous developer beta installed. However, if you’re just wondering what is new or what has changed in this new beta, there are a few things.
Starting with the most obvious one – Apple Intelligence. With beta 4, Apple’s flagship feature for iPhone and iPad is nowhere to be found. However, there are some references to it in certain areas throughout the operating system. But, the feature itself is not there yet. For some reason, I don’t expect the feature to go live for a couple of betas more. I could be wrong here.
With that out of the way, here is a list of things that is noticeable and new in iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 4.
iPhone Mirroring Resizin
With iOS 18 beta 4 and macOS Sequoia beta 4, you can now resize the iPhone Mirroring window to any size you like..
AssistiveTouch Includes ‘Type to Siri’
If you use AssistiveTouch on iPhone, you’ll notice a new Type to Siri button. You can also add an ‘Apple Watch Mirroring’ button to AssistiveTouch, too.
Dark Mode Now Works Properly
In older betas, dark and light mode was slightly broken and icons wouldn’t switch from light mode to dark in some cases. This has been fixed in beta 4. This is more of a bug fix.
‘Hidden’ Folder Becomes Less Obvious
The ‘Hidden’ folder in App Library is just a blank folder with no icons in it. It’s supposed to be hidden, and it seems so that way now.
Brand New ‘Camera Controls’ Button
Apple has added a brand new ‘Camera Controls’ button to the Preserve Settings section for the Camera app.
New CarPlay Wallpapers
If you’re into CarPlay, you’ll notice a new set of wallpapers. And oh, you can download them, too.
