If you don’t see iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 or macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta updates, there’s a good and strange reason for it.

Can’t See iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 or macOS Sequoia 15.1 Beta Updates? Your Device Doesn’t Support Apple Intelligence, that’s Why

Apple released iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1 betas a while back with Apple Intelligence. However, some people were quick to notice that the update is not available for their devices while it is for others.

While iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1 brings Apple Intelligence to the table, Apple is only making the update available for devices that support Apple Intelligence in the first place. You should have an iPhone 15 Pro at least to download iOS 18.1 beta, a M1 iPad to download iPadOS 18.1 beta 1 and an Apple silicon Mac to download macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta.

If you own a device that does not support Apple Intelligence, the beta won’t show up for you at all. You can keep on testing iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia 15 until the final version is released. I know it sounds strange, but that’s the route Apple is taking with this. And yes, it hasn’t done such a thing before.

There is a chance Apple might bring iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1 to other devices without Apple Intelligence once the final version of iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS 15 is released. It’s just a guess at this point. Because, if Apple made this update available to everyone today, no-one would bother using iOS 18 and macOS 15 at all. Everyone would’ve jumped to the new beta instead.

Also keep in mind Apple Intelligence is currently offering a waitlist to users. It’s not available to try out immediately. Also, devices with region set to United States are currently compatible to test out Apple Intelligence. With time, the feature will start rolling out to a wider audience and more languages.

Anyway, if you can’t see the latest beta updates, it’s because you didn’t invest enough in Apple silicon.
