Apple is going to step things up by giving the iPhone 17 Pro Max three 48-megapixel cameras, a huge upgrade over the iPhone 15 lineup.
New Investor Note by Ming-Chi Kuo Says Apple Will Ship the iPhone 17 Pro Max With Three 48-Megapixel Cameras
Currently, Apple sells the iPhone 15 lineup with a 48-megapixel main, 12-megapixel telephoto and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. It’s a system that works wonders and has found great fame among users.
However, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple is planning to take things up a notch and is reportedly going to ship the phone with three 48-megapixel cameras for wide, telephoto and ultra-wide configurations. Do keep in mind that this isn’t the first time the company is taking such a step. It has favored the larger phone with extra features from the very start.
If you buy the iPhone 15 Pro Max, you get the luxury of a 5x telephoto lens, and that’s exclusive to the bigger model. With the iPhone 15 Pro, you get a 2x optical zoom lens. If reports are anything to go by, the company is planning to give equal footing to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max by giving both the 5x telephoto lens.
We’ve also come across a report saying that the iPhone 16 is going to ditch the Sony camera sensor in favor of Samsung. Not only that, this is the first lineup in a long time that will feature the same A18 chip across the board. It remains to be seen if it’s going to be the exact same chip or will the Pro models ship with the A18 Pro instead of A18. Things like support for faster charging speeds, wired and wireless both, are also in the list of tech specs we can expect in a couple of months time.
