According to the latest rumor out of China, the iPhone SE 4, set for release in 2025, will feature a rear design similar to iPhone 16.
iPhone SE 4 Will be Identical to the Standard iPhone 16 from the Back, According to Latest Leak
The information comes from Weibo, and the leaker says the iPhone SE 4 will be identical to standard iPhone 16 phone from the back. If we take this information at face value, it seems as though Apple is going to ship its cheapest iPhone with multiple cameras for the first time.
The leaker goes on to say that the manufacturing process of the back plate for the SE 4 is exactly the same as iPhone 16. This makes perfect sense, too. Especially if Apple wants to bring cost down at a broader scale. Instead of manufacturing a different rear panel for the iPhone SE 4, Apple can just use the same one for its cheaper iPhone, too.
Of course, the iPhone SE 4 is going to be a lower-end iPhone, which also means it won’t be similar to the iPhone 16 when it comes to certain features. It may not have the brightest display, though rumors do suggest it may have an OLED panel. Face ID is also rumored to be a part of the iPhone SE 4, although I think Apple might stick with Touch ID, just like the Mac lineup and iPad Air.
I believe USB-C will be the one thing that will definitely be a part of iPhone SE. It’s a widely accepted port and one Apple should latch onto with its cheaper iPhone endeavor as well. I’ll be completely bamboozled if Apple decided to stick around with Lightning with this iPhone.
The new iPhone SE is expected to launch in Spring of 2025. Expect the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro to launch some time in September of this year.
