You can now download the official Microsoft Designer app for iPhone with generative AI image editing features.

Microsoft’s Free Generative AI Image App Called Designer Arrives on the iPhone

It’s no secret that Microsoft has been investing heavily in AI, or more precisely, OpenAI. The company has a lineup of laptops and tablets surrounded by artificial intelligence features and it is bringing one of those features to the iPhone with the Designer app.

Designer has been in beta for a long time but now it’s available for everyone on different platforms, including the iPhone. Explaining what it does is like giving you a refresher on what you already know. It’s a generative AI app that generates an image using text prompts. The more creative you are with those prompts, the more interesting the image will turn out to be. It’s the simplest description I can give you, and it’s exactly what this app is.

Apart from just generating images out of text prompts, you can create anything at all that surrounds an image, including a greeting card, a sticker which you can send through messages and so much more. Features like removing a background from an image is also available here. You can upload an image and ask AI to blur out the background, too. This app becomes way too useful as you dig deeper into your creative self.

There’s also a wonderful Avatar mode in Designer that will transform you into an AI-generated character using an existing image of yours. Yes, I know, you’ve seen it somewhere else, but it’s packed inside a wonderful little app from Microsoft and that matters the most.

There are a ton of generative AI apps like Designer, but since this one has Microsoft’s stamp of approval, therefore it should fit in with your Microsoft ecosystem quite well. And given how Apple Intelligence won’t be available on older iPhone and iPad devices, apps like Designer is suddenly going to play a crucial part in filling that void.

Designer is free for iPhone and you can download it from here. But remember, you are limited to 15 image generations per day after which you have to pay.
