Apple is currently working on four different kinds of M4 Macs and they’ll likely be announced in October.
Expect Apple to Announce New M4 MacBook Pro, Mac mini and iMac Computers this Fall
September is iPhone month, and the latest report ensures that. However, if you have been an Apple fan long enough, you already know October is the month when Apple unpacks a bunch of updated Macs.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is currently testing four different types of M4 Macs, including the MacBook Pro, Mac mini and iMac. Three Macs have the M4 chip with a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU configuration. One M4 Mac has a very different configuration with 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU. Surprisingly, all of these computers have at least 16GB of RAM while some have 32GB. Is Apple getting rid of 8GB of RAM option completely? I hope it is.
The report falls shy when it comes to certain details, but what we have above is enough to give us a glimpse into what we can expect in October. In other words, if you’ve been waiting to upgrade your Mac to something more recent, maybe waiting a couple of months more might be a better idea. I would definitely put my money on the M4 Macs, nothing else.
It’s believed that Apple is going to give the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air a complete redesign in 2025 – thinner chassis and all. Though the release time-frame is more than a year away, Apple is going to use the current design just a little more before shuffling things around.
