Chrome for Mac is now better than ever with the addition of Lens, tab compare, and the ability to search history, all powered by Google AI.
Chrome for Mac Gains Google AI Powered Features Including Lens, Tab Compare and History Search
Google Lens is an extremely useful tool for finding stuff online. It works by letting users draw a selection around the object they are interesting in and Google AI will find it online and give you necessary results for it. This may include product buying links and more.
Since AI is involved here, you can refine your search by adding more detail, which is extremely handy. For example, you like a pair of socks, you find it using Lens, then you can add terms like ‘gray’ or ‘orange’ to get precise results.
The second feature coming to Chrome for Mac is ‘tab compare.’ It will go through all of your open product tabs, create a comparison table with product description, price and pretty much everything you need. Google does this using the power of artificial intelligence. Is it a useful feature? Absolutely, if you find yourself comparing products online before making a purchase decision. You no longer have to jump between tabs when this feature is around.
The third feature is a very useful one. You can search through your browsing history using natural language. For example, you can just ask Google about a particular thing you were looking at last week and AI will dig through your browsing history and find what you were looking at.
I know what you’re thinking about the third feature – relax, Google says the feature is optional and can be turned off and that it does not work in incognito mode. I’m glad it’s like that.
All these features are rolling out for Mac users in the coming days and weeks.
