You can now download iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta 3 for your iPhone and iPad with Apple Intelligence features.
iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 Beta 3 with Apple Intelligence Features is Now Available for Download and Install
The update is available right now for your iPhone and iPad, and it is recommended that you go ahead and install it right away. iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta 3 includes further improvements to the software alongside Apple Intelligence.
In order to install the iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta 3 updates, here’s what you need to do:
- Connect to Wi-Fi and make sure you have 50% or more battery remaining.
- Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Go to General > Software.
- When iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta 3 appears for download, install it right away.
Remember, this update is only available for those who currently have an iPhone 15 Pro or an iPad with M-series chip inside. If you don’t have those devices, the update won’t show up for you.
Apple Intelligence requires at least 8GB of RAM and a ton of processing power which older iPhone and iPad models don’t have. Given how things stand, I don’t see Apple bringing its AI features to older devices down the line. In order to use and enjoy these features, you need a more recent iPhone and iPad.
iOS 18.1 and the latest iOS 18.0 beta update are extremely similar in terms of features. But, if Apple has updated beta 3 with something entirely different, other than Apple Intelligence of course, I will inform my readers about it. Until then, make sure you download and install the latest update on all your devices running beta software.
Given how things stand, Apple is going to launch iOS 18.0 and iPadOS 18.0 first and then release iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 to the public. In other words, Apple is going to ship the entire iPhone 16 lineup without Apple Intelligence, a move that is definitely going to surprise a lot of people.
It also remains to be seen if Apple Intelligence is going to be available in the EU at launch. Currently, the AI features are slowly rolling out in the EU and if all goes well, should be available for everyone later this year. If you currently live in the EU, you can try to enable Apple Intelligence by following this tutorial.
