You can now download and install iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta 2 with Apple Intelligence for the iPhone and iPad.
iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 Beta 2 Now Available to Download with Apple Intelligence and Bug Fixes
If you’ve been waiting for beta 2 of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 to arrive, you’re in luck as Apple has just released the brand new update for developers. I highly recommend installing it right away as it includes a bunch of bug fixes and improvements.
Here’s what you need to do in order to download and install iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta 2:
- Make sure your iPhone and iPad has more than 50% battery.
- Connect to a fast and stable Wi-Fi connection.
- Now go to Settings > General > Software Update.
- When iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta 2 shows up, download it.
If you’re installing the update for the first time, please note the update won’t be available to you if you have an iPhone or iPad that does not support Apple Intelligence. You must have an iPhone 15 Pro or an iPad with M-series chip in order to test Apple Intelligence. Also, if you reside in the EU or China, you can’t test out Apple Intelligence in those regions as the feature is not available there right now.
At the time of writing, I have no idea what’s new in the update, but if there’s anything new and noteworthy, and I’m sure there definitely is, I’ll let my readers know about it. Until then, if you’ve been testing out iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta, be sure to download beta 2 onto your iPhone and iPad right now and give it a dose of stability.
Do keep in mind Apple will launch iOS 18.0 and iPadOS 18.0 first. iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 will become available for download later this year. If reports are correct, the iPhone 16 won’t even ship with Apple Intelligence – you have to wait for the iOS 18.1 software update to arrive first. I’m fine with that, as long as Apple delivers the new iPhone on time.
Also, do keep in mind that iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 isn’t currently available as a public beta and Apple hasn’t said anything about it either. If there’s any official word regarding this, I’ll definitely update everyone.
