iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 5 for iPhone and iPad is out now for developers. Here’s how you can download and install it.
Apple has Released iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 Beta 5 for iPhone and iPad with More Bug Fixes and Improvements – Download it Today
The day suddenly got interesting with the release of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 5. Both updates are available to download over the air, and I’ll show you how you can install it now.
Given you have a previous beta installed, and I’m 90% sure you do, just follow the steps outlined below:
- Make sure you have 50% or more battery life on your iPhone and iPad.
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
- Launch the ‘Settings’ app.
- Navigate to General > Software Update.
- When iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 5 shows up, install it.
The installation may take a while, and once it is done, you can start using your iPhone and iPad normally.
At this point, it’s unclear what has changed in the beta. I’m sure Apple has tossed some things around once again for the sake of improvements. And oh, in case you’re wondering, there’s no Apple Intelligence in this release. For that, you have to download and install iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta.
There’s no point in downloading iOS 18.1 or iPadOS 18.1 beta if you have a device that isn’t compatible with Apple Intelligence as the beta won’t even show up for you. If you do have an iPhone 15 Pro, an iPad with M-series chip, only then you can give the update a spin. However, if you do live in the EU or China, Apple Intelligence won’t be available, even if you try the workaround.
If there’s anything noteworthy in this update, I’ll do a separate blog post about it, so stay tuned for that. If you’ve been testing out the beta for a long time now, I suggest installing beta 5 right away as it will make your iPhone and iPad more stable than yesterday.
