Apple has released iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 public beta 3 for both iPhone and iPad. Let me show you how to download and install it.

You Can now Download and Install iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 Public Beta 3 on iPhone and iPad with Bug Fixes and Other Improvements

While developers got a taste of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 5 on Monday, Apple has released iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 public beta 3 today. It’s basically the same update that was released for developers, but for public beta testers. You can expect the same set of changes in it, too.

In order to download and install the update now, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi and have 50% or more battery life remaining on your iPhone or iPad. Once you’ve made sure of that, follow the steps below:

  • Launch the ‘Settings’ app.
  • Go to General > Software Update.
  • When the new public beta shows up, simply download and install it.

It’s that easy, and I highly recommend installing the update right now if you are testing the software on a daily driver iPhone or iPad. Apart from the small feature changes, the update includes a lot of bug fixes and improvements. If you’ve been experiencing app crashes, slowdowns or other issues, public beta 3 should fix most of those problems.

The first thing you should try out after installing the update is the new ‘Hide Distracting Items’ feature in Safari. It lets you get rid of UI elements on a website for a true, distraction-free experience. Just open up a website and then tap on website options on the left of the URL bar. Tap on ‘Hide Distracting Items’ and start erasing stuff away.

Keep in mind that this update does not include Apple Intelligence. For that, you have to download iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1. Just make sure you have a device that is compatible with Apple Intelligence otherwise the update won’t even show up for you. Furthermore, Apple Intelligence is currently not available in the EU and China.

Currently, there is no public beta for iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1. There is a chance Apple might open it up for everyone to try out later. Until that happens, you can download and install iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 public beta 3 instead.
