You can now download macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta 2 on your Mac with Apple Intelligence, if you’re a developer. Here’s how to install it right away.
Beta 2 of macOS Sequoia 15.1 is here with Apple Intelligence, Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements
Apple has seeded the second beta of macOS Sequoia 15.1 to developers. Not to be confused with macOS Sequoia 15.0 which does not ship with Apple Intelligence. This is a separate developer beta that only runs on Macs that support Apple Intelligence. If yours doesn’t, you won’t even see the macOS 15.1 update.
Anyway, I highly recommend downloading and installing macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta 2 right away, especially if you’ve been running into issues with either Apple Intelligence or general stability. Hopefully, the second beta has resolved most of the issues, if not all of them.
In order to download macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta 2, here’s what you need to do:
- Make sure you’ve saved your work and you’re plugged into a power outlet.
- Launch ‘System Settings’ by clicking on the ‘Apple’ logo in the menu bar.
- Now click on ‘General.’
- Click on ‘Software Update.’
- When macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta 2 shows up, download it, install it.
You will be required to restart your Mac in order to install the update. Once booted up after a long restart, you can start using your Mac normally.
Chances are Apple has slipped something new in this update, if that’s the case, I will highlight it in a separate blog post, so stay tuned for that. Until then, make sure you download and install the second beta for the smoothest possible sailing until the final version arrives later this year.
If you own any of the many Apple silicon Macs, you will be able to enjoy the brand new update when it becomes available later this year. Just like iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1, the new macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta will be released after the macOS 15.0 update has been released.
If you’re installing macOS Sequoia 15.1 for the first time, you can check out the tutorial here for the developer beta. Just make sure you select macOS Sequoia 15.1 Developer Beta in the Beta Updates section. Also, do keep in mind that macOS 15.1 is now available to download for public beta testers.
