Apple has released a new macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 update with important bug fixes. It’s best you download and install it right away.
Download and Install macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 Today with Important Bug Fixes
Apart from iOS 17.6.1 and iPadOS 17.6.1, Apple has released macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 update for Mac users. And just like the iOS and iPadOS update, this one also fixes an important issue with Advanced Data Protection. If you’ve been having issues enabling the feature, this update will fix it all, hopefully.
In order to download the update now, here’s what you have to do:
- Click on the Apple logo in the menu bar.
- Now click on ‘System Settings.’
- Click on ‘General’ and then click on ‘Software Update.’
- When macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 shows up, click on ‘Update Now.’
Like any other macOS update, this one is over a gigabyte in size and will definitely take a while to download and install. Just let your Mac do its thing and macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 will be installed in under twenty minutes, if you have a fast internet connection at home.
This is not a huge update, by any means. If you don’t use Advanced Data Protection at all, although you should, this update shouldn’t bother you one bit. But, if you do plan to use it at some point in the future, it’s best to download such updates as they arrive so that the feature is available to use whenever you choose to use it.
Personally, I recommend that you download any macOS update right away without wasting any time. I absolutely love it when new software updates are released because they usually end up fixing a handful of bugs which we don’t know about. This update isn’t going to be any different.
If there’s any noteworthy in macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, I’ll let you know about it. Until then, focus on downloading the update.
