watchOS 11 beta 5 for developers is now available for download. Let me show you how you can download and install it right now.
Beta 5 of watchOS 11 Now Available for Download if You’re a Developer – Download it Right Away
Compared to iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, watchOS 11 may not seem that exciting. However, it’s an extremely important puzzle in the Apple ecosystem and the fifth beta of the update is available for download today.
If you’ve downloaded watchOS updates before, you already know what to do. But I’ll give you a refresher anyway for beta 5.
- Place your Apple Watch on its magnetic charger and make sure you have 50% or more battery life remaining.
- On your iPhone, go to Watch > General > Software Update.
- When watchOS 11 beta 5 shows up, download and install it right away.
Like any other watchOS update, this may take several hundred years to install. Once done, you can remove your Apple Watch from its magnetic charger and start using it immediately.
I really don’t have to say this, but once you’ve installed watchOS 11 beta, you cannot downgrade back to watchOS 10. I know it’s a bad deal, but it is what it is. I wish there was an internet recovery type of feature for Apple Watch that would allow a rollback to publicly available firmware, but since there isn’t, you are going to install each and every single beta update until the final one comes out.
If there’s anything noteworthy in this beta, I’ll highlight it in a separate blog post. Until then, get busy in downloading beta 5 if you want your Apple Watch to function as smoothly as possible.
