Public beta 4 of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 is now available for download as well. I recommend installing it right now.
Apple Releases iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 Public Beta 4 – Download and Install it Today
Apple went all-out with its software releases. Not only did it release iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 6, but also pushed out iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta 2. You think it’d stop there, right? You now have iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 public beta 4 to deal with as well.
If you’ve been running the public beta 3 for a while, you should go ahead and download the latest build right away. All you have to do is connect your iPhone or iPad to a Wi-Fi network, launch the ‘Settings’ app, go to General > Software Update and tap on ‘Update Now’ when iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 public beta 4 shows up. There’s nothing more to it at all.
Public beta 4 is more of a refinement in terms of bugs and performance over the third one, which makes it important to download right away. And remember, this update does not include Apple Intelligence and it never will. Apple’s AI is only exclusive to iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 and that will be released after iOS 18.0 and iPadOS 18.0 has been released to the public. Furthermore, Apple Intelligence is only going to be available on iPhone 15 Pro and iPads that have Apple’s M-series chip inside. Bet you knew that already.
Anyway, make sure you update those devices right away if you want to experience the most stable ride on the beta highway. While these updates tend to fix things on a system level, third-party app support mostly remains broken unless the developer goes out of their way to add some sort of preliminary support. If they haven’t, you may want to wait till the end of the year.
