We are nearing the launch of the iPhone 16 and Foxconn, Apple’s iPhone manufacturer, has hired an additional 50,000 workers to meet demand.
Foxconn Hires 50,000 Additional Workers to Meet iPhone 16 Demand Set by Apple
The new iPhone lineup is expected to launch in September, with some news outlets speculating Apple to announce the new handsets on the 10th of the month. But, one thing’s for sure, the new iPhones are definitely coming and Apple’s supplier Foxconn has hired an additional 50,000 workers to meet demand, according to a report by BusinessKorea.
Foxconn’s largest iPhone assembly plant is currently in Zhengzhou, China where these hirings are taking place. Not only is Foxconn offering better hourly wages, but better bonuses to the new workers, too. Apparently, it’s common during this time of the year since work is hard and long.
Apple is expecting a lot of people to jump onboard the iPhone 16 bandwagon because of Apple Intelligence. Do keep in mind you need at least an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max in order to use these AI features. If you don’t have them, and you want some AI in your life, your best bet is to upgrade. Apple is hoping big-time you will upgrade, hence the bigger demand this time.
What’s interesting is, Apple Intelligence is not going to launch in time for the iPhone 16. It is slightly delayed and will be available as part of the iOS 18.1 update. Despite that, Apple is going to launch the iPhone 16 on time. It is also believed that Korea is going to be in the early wave of countries to get the handset as well.
