A new report confirms that the M4 MacBook Pro is set for release later this year, confirming previous news about the refresh.
Apple’s MacBook Pro with 14-inch and 16-inch Displays Set for the M4 Upgrade Around October
At this point, you can just take this news at face value no matter what happens. The MacBook Pro is going to be updated anyway since the new M4 chip is out with iPad Pro. Thankfully, we constantly get reminders and confirmations from different sources that the new refresh is definitely coming.
According to analyst Ross Young, the display panels of the MacBook Pro shipping ahead of time confirms the Q4 launch. If past events are anything to go by, we should see Apple announcing a brand new October event where it will refresh its Mac lineup, including the MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini.
Just like last year, and the one before it, both 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will be updated to the latest and fastest chips from Apple. I’m expecting Apple to update the entire lineup with the M4, M4 Pro and the M4 Max chips. The M4 model is definitely going to be the base one, just like the M3 MacBook Pro.
Though people disagree with having a non-Pro chip inside the MacBook Pro, I am all up for it. If you need a laptop for sustained loads without spending too much money, it’s the way to go. That active cooling system can make a huge difference in exporting something massive.
