Apple has released macOS Sequoia 15.0 beta 8. You can download and install the update right now.
macOS Sequoia 15.0 Beta 8 Now Available for Download, Install it Today for More Stability on Your Mac
Those running macOS 15.1 Sequoia beta don’t have to worry about this update. But, if you have been testing out macOS 15.0 for a while now, and currently have beta 7 installed, then here’s what you need to do in order to install beta 8:
- Save your work and settings.
- Launch ‘System Settings’ by clicking on the ‘Apple’ logo in the menu bar.
- Go to General > Software Update.
- Wait for macOS Sequoia 15.0 beta 8 to show up and then install it.
macOS updates usually take a while to download and install, so be patient while the whole thing is in process. Once complete, you can start using your Mac as you normally do, but this time with more stability compared to the start of the day.
At this point, macOS Sequoia 15.0 is very stable on the Mac. We’re 8 betas in and we’re extremely close to the stable release, too. Hopefully, Apple will release macOS Sequoia alongside iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 and not delay it until October. Reports do say there won’t be any delay but who knows there is a last minute change of plan.
Usually I don’t recommend installing beta software at all, but given how stable macOS Sequoia has gotten with recent updates, you can just go ahead and take it for a spin on any supported device you like. Chances of anything going wrong or low, but not zero, so please make sure you have taken a backup of everything before going ahead.
You can test out macOS Sequoia 15 developer beta and public beta both right now. Again, that backup is extremely necessary.
