A new report has leaked pretty much every iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro camera detail you can imagine.
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro Getting Tons of Camera Upgrades
We know quite a bit about the iPhone 16 at this point. But, AppleInsider has spilled the beans on the camera system and its features. They go into a ton of details, but I will only highlight key points from the report.
First and foremost, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will have a 48-megapixel camera sensor with a f/1.6 aperture. The ultra-wide camera on the iPhone 16 will have an aperture of f/2.2 which is an upgrade from the current iPhones that have f/2.4 ultra-wide lenses.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro will keep the 48-megapixel cameras, so no improvements here at all. However, the iPhone 16 Pro is gaining a 5x telephoto lens which is a welcome upgrade.
Macro photography is coming to the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus – a feature that is currently exclusive to the iPhone Pro lineup.
Both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro smartphones will feature 48-megapixel ultra-wide cameras with f/2.2 aperture. That’s a huge deal given how mediocre the current ultra-wide cameras are. I’m glad this upgrade is finally happening after a long time.
A new captivity ‘Capture’ button will be a part of every single iPhone this year allowing you to half press to lock exposure or focus and deep press to take a photo.
Last but not the least, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be able to shoot 3K video at a whopping 120 frames per second. But that’s not all – this video will be in Dolby Vision. Slo-mo fans are going to love this one.
I suggest checking out the full report for more details. So far, things are shaping up quite nicely.
