Here is a complete list of noteworthy changes in the latest iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 5 for both iPhone and iPad.

iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 Beta 5 Features a Handful of Changes Including the Usual Bug Fixes

Apple released iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 5 just a while back and it comes with a bunch of interesting changes and a huge addition in Safari everyone is going to love.

Let’s dive right into it.

Hide Distracting Items in Safari

If you’re on a website in Safari, you now have the option to remove elements (or distractions, as Apple likes to call it) of a website by just tapping on it. Want to remove the header of the website? Done. Remove a widget? That too. How about remove an entire article? Consider it done.

If you want to go through a website without any distraction, this is the feature you’ll find most useful. You can find this feature by tapping on the options button on the left of the URL bar in Safari.

Photos App Carousel is Now Gone

There was a carousel in the Photos app which a lot of people didn’t like. Based on feedback from users, Apple has removed it completely.

I’m not sure if that was a good idea. Making it optional would have been a better move. Who knows it might return as an optional feature later on.

Edit Pages Option on Home Screen

Press and hold on an icon to edit it on the Home Screen, tap on the Edit button on the top left, you now have a new option called Edit Pages. Once you tap on it, you can enable or disable the Home Screen pages for further customization.

Update to Private Address in Wi-Fi

If you go to Settings > Wi-Fi, there’s a new Private Wi-Fi Address setting that now allows you to rotate private addresses, keep them fixed or turn off the option completely.

Bug Fixes, Obviously

Apart from the above changes, you can expect a bunch of bug fixes in this update, too. If you don’t care about what’s changed, you definitely care about stability, so go ahead and install beta 5 right away.
