New AirPods 4 details have emerged and they are shaping up to be quite an interesting upgrade compared to existing models.
A Bunch of New AirPods 4 Details have Surfaced – Higher End Model with Active Noise Canceling, Built-in Speaker for Find More, More
One thing’s for sure – Apple is going to announce two AirPods 4 models on Monday. One is going to be the base model while the upper tier model is going to have all the bells and whistles. The base model is meant to replace the second-generation AirPods while the higher-end model is going to be a replacement of the current third-generation AirPods.
Bloomberg shares a bunch of interesting details regarding the AirPods 4 and they kick things off with an interesting one – they’ll be similar to the AirPods Pro. While that sounds like enough detail, but what does that mean exactly? Is Apple going for an in-ear design with the new AirPods? If yes, it’s a really smart move and I’m sure many will welcome it as a better seal instantly improves the overall audio quality.
Secondly, both AirPods models are going to feature improved sound quality. This means you can expect a better sound reproduction along with better bass which is a given at this point. However, the higher-end model will have active noise canceling for an even better audio experience.
However, this is where things get interesting – the more expensive AirPods 4 model will include a built-in speaker that works with Find My. If you lose your AirPods, you can ping them using the Find My app and the built-in speaker will play a sound.
Both models will ditch the Lightning port for USB-C, which is an obvious change at this point.
Regarding price, I will be blown away if Apple manages to hit the $129 with the base model and $169 with the higher-end model. This is a direct replacement of the current models in terms of price. But given how things stand, I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple goes for a slight price bump.
