Just like everything else, the official release date of watchOS 11 is 16th of September, which is just a few days away. That’s the day you fire up the Watch app on your iPhone, go to General > Software Update and bless your Apple Watch with a major new firmware update.
Beta testers should be immensely pleased with this news since you get the chance to get off the beta channel completely and return to normal life. However, watchOS 11 RC will be released first, which is basically the final version of the software meant for developers and testers. Once you have installed that, you don’t have to worry about downgrading watchOS 11 back to anything at all.
Those who never installed watchOS 11 developer or public beta are in for a real treat. Though watchOS 11 might not feel like a huge upgrade, it packs the right amount of features that makes the Apple Watch exciting again. One of those feature is the ability to pause your Activity rings, allowing you to take a break during workout days. The Vitals app gives you a holistic view of your health while Training Load helps you push your workouts even further and hit new goals.
All of that awaits you on the 16th of September, the official release date of watchOS 11 for Apple Watch. Make sure you log that into the Calendar app on iPhone and iPad.
Once you do install the watchOS 11 final update on Apple Watch, make sure to stop receiving further beta updates. This is an extremely important step, especially if you have been testing the beta software since day one and absolutely regret doing it.
