Apple Releases tvOS 18 RC Build for Developers and Public Beta Testers – Download and Install it Right Away
Those who have been testing out the tvOS 18 developer or public beta can go right ahead and install tvOS 18 RC on their Apple TV. The release candidate build is basically the final version of the software that is exclusively available to those testing out beta software.
If you have been testing said beta, here’s what you need to do in order to download and install tvOS 18 RC right now:
Step 1. Launch the ‘Settings’ app from the tvOS Home Screen.
Step 2. Scroll down and open ‘System.’
Step 3. Open ‘Software Updates.’
Step 4. Open up ‘Update Software’ and install the tvOS 18 RC version from here.
If you are not a beta tester, you won’t see the update at all. However, with just a week to go until the final release of tvOS 18, I will suggest waiting it out just a little more. You’ve made it this far, why not push it a little extra and make it worthwhile.
You can expect a ton of stability on your Apple TV after installing tvOS 18 RC. Though tvOS betas are usually stable to begin with, the RC build is as stable as it gets. If there are bugs which Apple forgot to patch, don’t worry about it as future updates will fix everything up.
