Testing beta updates is never fun (or maybe it is) and those who look forward to downloading the next build are always in for a treat. However, today is different, especially if you own Vision Pro as the RC version of visionOS 2 software update is now available to download and install.
This update is only available to those who have been testing out visionOS 2 developer beta. All you have to do is go to Settings > General > Software Update and download the visionOS 2 RC version from here. This is essentially the full and final version of the software that will be released to the general public around the world in a week’s time.
visionOS 2 is a very, very good update. It is packed with a few new features, but they are all excellent. One of those features is Mac Virtual Display with support for ultra-wide screen output. This means you don’t get a 1:1 output of your Mac’s display, but get to expand it to a point that it wraps around your view for the ultimate Mac experience.
There’s also a feature that converts your existing photos to Spatial ones automatically within the Photos app, thanks to the power of machine learning. No matter what that photo is, it will come to life on the Vision Pro.
Beta testers should go right ahead and download visionOS 2 RC on their Vision Pro. Everyone else will have to wait a while longer until the final version arrives. But don’t worry, it’s not too far off.
