Apple has Just Released macOS Sequoia 15.1 Beta 4 with Apple Intelligence and Further Improvements – Download it Today
Though the final version of macOS Sequoia 15.0 is out for the public, you still have time to test out macOS Sequoia 15.1. Those testing out beta 3 can download beta 4 over the air and it includes the necessary fixes for a smoother experience on your Mac.
Before you begin installing the update, make sure you have saved all your work and files to a safe and secure location as you will be required to restart your Mac. Once you have, follow the steps outlined below:
- Launch ‘System Settings.’
- Click on ‘General.’
- Now click on ‘Software Update.’
- Once the Software Update page is done refreshing, macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta 4 will show right up. Download and install it.
The entire installation may take up to half an hour, depending on how fast your internet connection is. There’s really no way to speed this whole thing up. But, once the update is installed, you can start using your Mac normally.
Again, if you don’t see the macOS Sequoia 15.1 developer preview, it’s because you have an Intel Mac. Apple silicon is a strict requirement in order to test out and use Apple Intelligence. What this means is, it’s time to upgrade your Mac to something more recent. There are a ton of great deals to choose from on older Apple silicon Mac models, and all of them offer epic levels of performance compared to Intel.
The full and final version of macOS Sequoia 15.1 is set for release in October. It remains to be seen whether the update will be available before or after the new Mac lineup is announced. Rumor has it that the new M4 Macs will be announced in October and launch in November.
macOS 15.1 isn’t the only update that will be released in October. iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 are currently in beta as well, and they too are going to be released alongside the Apple Intelligence-toting version of macOS Sequoia.
We’re well into September at this point and October isn’t too far off. We’ve waited this long, a month or month and a half worth of wait is not going to hurt anyone.
