Apple has released tvOS 18.1 beta 1 for Apple TV and it is available for download right now.

Apple Releases tvOS 18.1 Beta 1 for Developers, Download it Today and Test it Out

Despite the big software releases on Monday, Apple is taking a giant leap forward and working on more updates. Alongside iOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1 beta 4, Apple released the first beta of watchOS 11.1, and now, tvOS 18.1 as well.

When Apple released tvOS 18, the company said three features are coming later this year, one of them being 21:9 projector support. However, with today’s release of tvOS 18.1 beta 1, it’s safe to assume we are coming close to those features sooner rather later.

If you are interested in downloading tvOS 18.1 beta, the steps to sign up for it are the same as before and you can find them here. I wouldn’t wait for the public beta for this, and Apple hasn’t said anything about it either. However, if there’s any update regarding it, I will inform everyone about it.

Unlike iPhone, iPad and Mac, the Apple TV isn’t getting Apple Intelligence features, though I believe it can be a great place for such a thing. But, given how underpowered the existing Apple TV hardware is for AI features, I am going to assume Apple is working on dedicated hardware that will bring Apple Intelligence to the big screen.

Apple’s biggest pitch was Apple Intelligence at WWDC this year. However, with everyone well into September, none of those features are available publicly which automatically pushes expectations sky high. Though I am not a fan of AI, no matter how hard I try, I am curious to see how Apple has implemented its features throughout the system.
