The wait is over and you can now download and install visionOS 2 final software update on your Vision Pro, here’s how.
visionOS 2 Final Now Available for Download with New Photos App, Ultra-Wide Mac Display Support, New Gestures and More
visionOS 2 is a great leap forward for Vision Pro. It builds on top of existing features and improves them brilliantly. For example, if you are using your Vision Pro as a display for the Mac, you now get ultra-wide screen support, something which wasn’t previously possible. This means you get way more desktop space to work on rather than rely on a second monitor.
With machine learning at the heart of visionOS 2, it will scan photos in your library and give them the spatial treatment. This gives each and every photo depth, allowing you to relive the moment like you are actually there once again. There are a lot of improvements to the Photos app, too allowing you to find the photos you love as quickly as possible.
There is a ton of stuff to love here and all you need to do is install visionOS 2. Let me show you how:
Note: I will highly recommend connecting your Vision Pro to an external power source. You can either use a power bank or connect the headset directly to a wall charger.
Step 1. Launch the ‘Settings’ app.
Step 2. Go to General then ‘Software Update.’
Step 3. When visionOS becomes available for download, select ‘Update Now.’
When the installation commences, put your Vision Pro aside and let everything complete on its own. The whole thing may take a while.
Once the installation is complete, you can start enjoying the new features your Vision Pro just received.
Given the news of a cheaper Vision headset on the horizon, it remains to be seen which corners Apple is going to cut in order to bring the cost down. Given the benchmark Vision Pro has managed to set, which is very high, Apple really has a tough choice to make in order to match the experience they are currently providing with the least amount of sacrifices.
While the cheaper Vision headset is far away from release, it’s best to stick to what we currently have and enjoy it the most – the Vision Pro. With visionOS 2 out, it’s good to see Apple is giving it full attention in terms of feature updates.
