Apple has Just Released the watchOS 11 RC Update – Download and Install it Right Away
You have done it. You survived each and every single beta update of watchOS 11 and finally made it watchOS 11 RC. This is basically the final version of the update before it is rolled out to the public a week later. You can easily assume you’re finally off the beta channel and back to normal life with this update.
In order to download and install watchOS 11 RC right away, here’s what you need to do:
Step 1. Place your Apple Watch on its magnetic charger straight away.
Step 2. Connect your iPhone to a Wi-Fi network.
Step 3. Launch the ‘Watch’ app on the iPhone.
Step 4. Go to General > Software Update.
Step 5. Once here, wait for the page to refresh and install watchOS 11 RC as it becomes available for download.
watchOS 11 RC should bring a ton of stability to your Apple Watch. However, as developers start to update their apps with full support for watchOS 11, that’s when you will notice a big boost in performance, only if you rely on third-party apps a lot for certain things.
Whether you’re a developer or a public beta tester, just go ahead and install watchOS 11 RC right away. I really don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t.
I’m not a fan of installing watchOS beta updates, because you cannot downgrade back to the publicly available software. Apple doesn’t even sell any special cable or accessory that allows you to connect your Apple Watch to the Mac for a downgrade either. Hence, if you download and install any watchOS beta update, you’re in for a long ride. Thankfully, that ride is now over for you since watchOS 11 RC is now available.
