With reports of iPadOS 18 bricking M4 iPad Pro tablets on the rise, Apple has pulled the update completely for now.
Several Users Reporting iPadOS 18 Bricking their M4 iPad Pro Tablet, Apple Pulls the Update Temporarily
It wouldn’t be a major software release if it isn’t followed by some sort of drama. Today, Apple has pulled the iPadOS 18 update for the iPad Pro with M4 chip when several users took to social media and other platforms to reveal that their tablets were bricked after installing the update.
Once bricked, the device becomes completely useless and wouldn’t even power on. There is nothing you can do to revive it either. Apple isn’t acknowledging the issue at all, but given that the update has been pulled is acknowledgment enough.
I really hope you did not go ahead with the update on your M4 iPad Pro. It’s best to just sit this one out until an updated version of the software becomes available. Given how this can turn into a major issue, I’m sure Apple is already working on issuing a new iPadOS 18 build for its new iPad Pro.
In case you are wondering, this issue does not affect any other iPhone or iPad device at all. From all the reports I have seen so far, only the M4 iPad Pro took a hit, nothing else. So, even if you have updated, don’t worry about anything, your update went through absolutely fine.
I am going to keep a close eye on this one because the M4 iPad Pro is Apple’s extremely important product. If there’s an update, I will definitely let my readers know about it. Until then, wait this one out.
