iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro Geekbench 6 Scores Are Out – Very, Very Interesting Performance Compared to Last Year
Geeks are waiting for the most obvious thing right now when it comes to iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro – the Geekbench 6 benchmarks. How well does the A18 and A18 Pro chip compare to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro from last year?
Now that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro reviews are out, we are seeing a lot of great information about these phones which Apple didn’t reveal. One of those reviews was done by Faruk, the man behind the iPhonedo YouTube channel.
During his review, he put all the new iPhones through Geekbench 6 and shared the results the were generated. And this is we get:

Right off the bat, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro are really fast phones compared to everything else Apple has ever made. But, if you squint a little, you’ll start to notice something interesting.
Unlike the standard iPhone 15 from last year, this year’s iPhone 16 shares the same chip as the Pro model. Well, almost the same. I say this because the standard iPhone 16 comes neck and neck with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, which were already really fast phones from last year. Seeing similar performance a year later on the ‘cheaper’ model gives me joy that Apple is finally offering ample performance benefits to customers who do not want to pay for a Pro phone.
Taking an even deeper look at the scores, the difference in performance between iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro isn’t that huge either. Sure, every digit counts, but if you are using your iPhone for basic texting and things like Instagram, you won’t notice a thing.
