A new report says we will be getting our M4 Mac computers this November, with a possible announcement this October.
Apple Will Likely Announce New M4 Macs in October and Launch in November
The announcement part isn’t something new at all. We’ve been hearing rumors and reports about it for a long time. In fact, if you have a look at past years, Apple announces its Mac refresh in October – that’s a given.
However, according to a fresh new report from MacRumors, Apple is going to launch those new M4 Macs in November. This is the first time we have an actual month at hand in which we can buy one of these refreshed Macs. In other words, if you have been waiting to buy a Mac for a while and have been holding back because of an incoming refresh, you have to wait till November for it.
In terms of design, Apple is going to give the Mac mini a massive makeover with its M4 refresh. It is about to become the smallest Mac Apple has ever made, too. If reports are anything to go by, we can expect it to be as small as the Apple TV, which is already quite small.
Next up is the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M4. In terms of design, nothing is going to change this year, however a report says Apple will give it a big refresh in 2025 alongside the M5 chip. If you’re looking to buy a brand new ‘looking’ MacBook Pro, this might not be that year.
The iMac is also set to get an update this year. No design changes are mentioned in any report so far, so it’s safe to assume the M4 chip is the only upgrade Apple’s desktop computer is getting this year. Quite honestly, I don’t think the iMac needs a design change at all. The only thing it does need is a larger display model, something Apple is considering, according to a recent report.
The one thing that has me excited the most is this – a recent report said every single new Mac is going to ship with 16GB of RAM as standard. Apple is finally saying goodbye to 8GB of memory. I’m sure Apple is doing this to ensure best-possible performance of Apple Intelligence, if anything else. Or maybe, Apple has finally heard the calls of countless users around the globe and caved in.
We’ll know more about it once Apple announces these new M4 Macs.
