watchOS 11.1 beta is now available for download for compatible Apple Watch devices. Here’s how to install it now.
First Beta of watchOS 11.1 for Apple Watch Now Available for Download Alongside iOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1
You thought the beta rollercoaster ride was over? It’s not. Buckle up, because alongside the release of iOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1, Apple has seeded a new beta of watchOS 11.1, too. If you are up for testing more betas, you can download and install the new one right now.
Currently available for developers only, the steps for downloading it are the same as the initial watchOS 11 beta that can be found here. This also means the same rules apply for downgrade as well which means you cannot go back to the public build of the software once you download and install the developer beta. Make sure you keep this in mind before downloading watchOS 11.1 onto your Apple Watch.
Given the existence of iOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1, and a confirmed release time-frame of October, you can expect watchOS 11.1 to be released alongside those updates as well. I will suggest staying back from this beta from now and just wait until October to install it when the final version becomes available. Unless, you have a spare Apple Watch lying around on which you only test betas, then by all means, go ahead.
With the release of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta 4, Apple has made a major change – it is now available for all devices that can run iOS 18.0 and iPadOS 18.0. However, Apple Intelligence features are available for compatible devices only. This means non-compatible devices get a ton of bug fixes and other small enhancements, which is still not a bad deal.
If there is anything noteworthy in this update, I will definitely highlight it and share it with everyone. But so far, it seems like a small bug fix release with a big 0.1 number attached to it. But hey, who knows there’s a surprise or two, or three, lurking around, just waiting to be discovered.
