Rumor has it that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will both have easy-to-replace batteries, apart from iPhone 17 and 17 Air.
All iPhone 17 Models will have Easy-to-Replace Batteries Just like the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus
With iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, Apple introduced a new type of adhesive that can be removed by applying a small amount of current to it. The adhesive is so convenient, you can release it using a 9V battery – no special equipment required.
However, Apple did not introduce this change to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Apple still went ahead with the stretchy-adhesive-with-pull-tabs it has been using for a long time in those two phones.
Ask anyone who repairs iPhones for a living and they’ll tell you how awful this adhesive is to work with.
The new rumor says Apple is bringing the brand new adhesive to all iPhone 17 models next year. Do keep in mind Apple might not release an iPhone 17 Plus in 2025. Instead, the company is going to announce an entirely-new iPhone 17 Air, apart from the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Given how far away the iPhone 17 is, it’s best to take this rumor with a grain of salt, for now. With time, more details will show up and we will know for sure what the new iPhone 17 will bring to the table.
From what we’ve heard so far, the iPhone 17 is going to feature an always-on display with a 120Hz refresh rate – features that are currently exclusive to Pro models. Apple is also working on a 2nm chip for the iPhone, but the iPhone 17 may stick with 3nm, just like the current models.
When it comes to RAM, Apple may go ahead with a huge upgrade to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. We can expect the larger phone to ship with 12GB of RAM. The purpose of this much memory remains unclear, but likely due to some feature that is going be exclusive to the Pro Max.
As time moves on, we will keep on hearing more about the new iPhone 17. It will only get exciting from here.
