Apple posted massive numbers for Q4 2024. With $94.9 billion in revenue generated, let’s have a look at the numbers the company posted.

The iPhone Business Grew 5.5% Compared to Last Year – Q4 2024 Results Look Impressive

I’m not going to dive into the actual finance of this and keep things as simple as possible.

First and foremost, Apple’s Q4 starts on the 30th of June and ends on the 28th of September. It also includes the initial sales of the new iPhone and Apple Watch.

Also, keep in mind that Apple does not report the number of units and just talks about the money generated from each of its categories of products.

So, that being said, this is the amount of money each product category made:

  • iPhone – $46.22 billion. +5.5% compared to last year.
  • iPad – $6.95 billion. +7.87% compared to last year.
  • Mac – $7.74 billion. +1.71% compared to last year.
  • Wearables and other devices – $9.04 billion. -3% compared to last year.
  • Services – $24.97 billion. $11.91% compared to last year.

Lat but not the least, Apple made a total revenue of $94.93 billion which is +6% compared to last year in the same quarter.

The total profit comes out at $14.74 billion. There’s $10 billion missing from that figure, as Apple had to pay €13 billion to the Irish government in taxes.

With that out of the way, these numbers are very interesting. First and foremost, Apple’s iPhone business is doing great compared to last year. If we take these numbers at face value, Apple did a solid job with the iPhone 16 it seems. Reports do back that up, saying Apple is doing great when it comes to the iPhone 16 Pro.

The iPad side of things looks great, too. With a product lineup that’s stronger than ever, thanks to the M4 iPad Pro and M2 iPad Air, it’s safe to say Apple did a stellar job here as well.

Services saw a massive jump compared to last year. Looks like people are finally running out of their generous 5GB of free iCloud Drive storage and upgrading to the first storage tier.

However, the thing I’m interested in is how Apple Intelligence actually affects the sales of its devices. Is AI enough to make people jump to newer iPhones, iPad, and Mac models?

Guess we’ll know about it in the next quarter.
