The Vitals app in watchOS 11 definitely works as Apple Watch users report illness detection even before symptoms surface.

Apple’s Vitals App in watchOS 11 can Detect an Illness Days Before Symptoms Start to Show up

Apple Watch does a lot of things in the background and users don’t even know about it. With watchOS 11, Apple is really leveraging the sensors on Apple Watch to keep track of the overall health of the wearer using the new Vitals app.

Once set up and in use, it can prove to be a game-changer or life-saver, depending on how you see it. Because, according to some users who are using the Vitals app, they are reporting some truly amazing stuff.

Even before the illness manifests, the Vitals app has been alerting users way before the actual symptoms show up, according to several Reddit users.

One user reported how Vitals app notified them of potential sickness two days prior to symptoms showing up. This happened twice. Another user reported how the Vitals app knew 3 days before the sickness actually settled in.

While this may sound like technological voodoo, but do keep in mind results may vary from person to person. Apple says the Vitals app is not your doctor, but can only make suggestions based on data it has collected. If something’s up, you have to go to the doctor immediately, especially if symptoms start to surface.

One more thing, the Vitals app works only if you have an Apple Watch Series 8 or newer running watchOS 11. Also, Apple recommends that you keep your Apple Watch on your wrist at all times for proper data collection.

If you care about yourself and those around you, I will highly recommend turning the feature on right away. I know it sounds like too much work but 5 minutes of effort ensures you stay on top of your health and take action when needed.
