iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 public beta 4 is now available for download if you have an iPhone and iPad.
iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 Public Beta 4 Now Available for Download with Same Changes as Developer Beta 6
Today, Apple has released iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 public beta 4 for download and if you have been testing public beta 3 for a while, you should install it right away.
Before you go any further, it’s worth mentioning that this update features the same changes and fixes which the developer beta brings to the table.
Here’s how you can download and install iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 public beta 4 right now:
- First of all, connect your iPhone and iPad to Wi-Fi.
- Make sure you have 50% or more battery life remaining, too.
- Launch the Settings app and navigate to General > Software Update.
- Tap on Update Now when public beta 4 becomes available for download.
With the final version of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 just around the corner, I will strongly advise against installing the public beta, or even the developer beta. It’s best to install the final version directly and enjoy all the new features Apple has been working on the entire summer.
If you are still up for it, you can download the public beta for free. Just sign up at beta.apple.com and then go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates to enable public beta updates. It’s really that simple.
It will be interesting to see how people respond to Apple Intelligence features. For those who are used to the iPhone and iPad without AI, it’s going to be a huge change. But of course, you can just ignore those features and keep on using your device as you normally do.
