Download and Install iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 Beta 7 for iPhone and iPad Today with More Bug Fixes

We are extremely close to the full and final release of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1. But today, Apple has released iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta 7 for download which adds the finalizing touches to the upcoming software.

If you already have beta 6 installed on your iPhone and iPad, you should go ahead and download the latest update right away. Here’s how you do it:

  • Connect your iPhone or iPad to a Wi-Fi network.
  • Make sure you have 50% or more battery life remaining.
  • Launch the ‘Settings’ app.
  • Go to General > Software Update.
  • Tap on ‘Update Now’ when the new update shows up, it’s that simple.

This update continues where beta 6 left off by bringing more stability related fixes to the table. Given how many betas we’ve had so far, it’s evident Apple wants this one go out as smoothly as possible. Just recall iOS 18.0 and iPadOS 18.0 and how much of a mess it was and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.

Apple’s hype for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro hinges on the success and stability of the iOS 18.1 update as well. If it ships a bad software update, like the one which ended up bricking the M4 iPad Pro, the company is going to find itself in way too much hot water. Therefore it makes perfect sense why Apple is taking a while to refine this update before releasing it to the public.

Apple Intelligence is a huge deal, especially for Apple. At this point, the company is knees deep into its new adventure and it is up to its customer-base to decide whether Cupertino did a fine job or not. And it is fairly evident how safe Apple wants to navigate these waters by introducing the most subtle AI features first, one of them being an AI-powered proofreader.

Once these features find their place among users, Apple is going to roll out more features – Siri with ChatGPT and Visual Intelligence for the iPhone 16. It’s going to be a while before Apple rolls out all of its AI features that it announced at WWDC 2024.
