The full and final version of visionOS 2.1 software update is now available to download for Vision Pro users around the world.

visionOS 2.1 is Now Available to Download for Vision Pro After Being in Beta for a Long Time

Though things are looking bleak when it comes to Vision Pro, but Apple is hard at work ensuring the software experience remains as premium as possible.

Today, the final version of visionOS 2.1 has been released and you can install it over the air right now without any sort of wait.

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Power on your Vision Pro.
  • Connect the Vision Pro to a power outlet, if possible.
  • Launch the ‘Settings’ app.
  • Go to General > Software Update.
  • Install visionOS 2.1 when it becomes available for download.

During the installation, do not touch your Vision Pro at all. Once the installation is complete, you can start using the headset as you normally do.

Though it doesn’t need to be said at this point, but this update does not bring Apple Intelligence to the Vision Pro headset. And given how things are going right now, I don’t think any future update will do that either.

However, it seems as though Apple is working on new Vision headset models for the future – a cheaper model and a new Vision Pro 2. Those headsets will definitely feature Apple’s artificial intelligence features, and it would be absurd if they don’t.

A headset like Vision is exactly the place where AI features will be most useful. The cameras are always on, you are looking at stuff through the passthrough cameras, artificial intelligence can easily give you more information about the world around you.

Basically, Visual Intelligence, but for the Vision headset.
