iOS 18.2 beta is coming very soon and it will bring two important features to the iPhone and iPad.
Siri with ChatGPT and Visual Intelligence is Going to be a Part of the iOS 18.2 Feature-set
At this point in time, Apple Intelligence exists in the beta realm. If you want to test it out, you have to download iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 or macOS 15.1 beta.
However, the full and final version of the above software will become available for download later this month. If rumors are to believed, then 28th October is the date you should look forward to.
Do keep in mind Apple is going to roll out all Apple Intelligence features over a course of few months. And today, it has come to my attention that iOS 18.2 beta will bring two important features to the iPhone and iPad as found by Aaron Perris on X.
One of those features is Siri with ChatGPT and the other is Visual Intelligence, a feature exclusive to the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro.
With Siri being able to tap into ChatGPT, you can really, really expand the AI-chatbot capabilities of your iPhone and iPad. It is a great way to go in-depth with your queries and get information which Siri might not be able to provide.
Visual Intelligence is an important feature of iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro that lets you use the device’s camera to get more information of stuff you’re looking at. For example, you can find details of a bike by just pointing your iPhone at it or find out more details about a flower.
I’m sure a lot of people are going to find Visual Intelligence important, but it will be interesting to see how ‘intelligent’ it actually is in the first month of its release.
iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 are definitely coming, that’s for sure. It’s safe to assume that the first beta of it will become available after iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 has been released to the public.
Over time, important features like Image Playground will make its way to the iPhone and iPad as well. I know the roller-coaster ride is a bit slow here, but hey, if it promises some fantastic features that are worth the wait, then I’m all in.
Before anything happens, the first wave of features include Writing Tools, a brand new Siri, notification summaries, and that’s pretty much it. It doesn’t sound like much, but it’s definitely a huge leap for the Apple ecosystem.
