It’s safe to assume the new iPhone 16 Pro Max really is the phone to get when it comes to battery life.
iPhone 16 Pro Max Crushes the Competition in New Battery Test by Achieving Amazing Standby and Screen-on Time
A previous battery test showed how great the iPhone 16 Pro Max is compared to the competition. Today, a new test by PhoneBuff puts the 6.9-inch iPhone right on top of the list, dethroning phones like the S24 Ultra when it comes to battery life.
The test is extremely controlled and a robotic arm is used to ensure everything is consistent as possible on both the Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy. The test includes scrolling through apps, sending text messages, browsing the web, checking emails and a lot more. Stuff a normal person who would do a regular basis but stepped up a notch for the sake of this test.

To give you an idea how things turned out, the iPhone 16 Pro Max managed a total of 28 hours and 14 minutes in which it achieved 12 hours of screen on time and 16 hours of standby. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, managed a total of 27 hours and 18 minutes.
To make the confusion go away, the iPhone 16 Pro Max lasted an hour longer compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra which was already the battery king. However, with the test complete, the iPhone 16 Pro Max sits at the top of PhoneBuff’s list of smartphones with the longest battery life.
If you want to take this test at face value, then the iPhone 16 Pro Max is what you should buy (once again) when it comes to battery life alone. But, do keep in mind you lose a little bit of portability and one-handed use since the Pro Max is a very large phone. If you are fine with that, then great battery life awaits you.
